Adrian Makeham-Kirchner

Adrian formed Economic Intelligence in 2012.

Adrian’s skills are suited to working with decision makers who face tough, complex and sensitive resourcing choices, undertaking applied research, delivering projects and building towards outcomes from stakeholder engagement.  Adrian’s objective is to provide understandable, affordable and robust analytical decision making support in a timely manner, starting from first principles.

Adrian has extensive experience in the government and non-government sectors having worked as a consultant, political adviser, Senior Executive, Board Member and as a business owner.

Adrian has deep experience in applied economic analysis, statistical analysis, strategic thinking and complex policy and system design to support evidence based decision making.

Adrian’s experience is complemented with relevant formal qualifications and regular professional development.

• Disability ACT—worked with senior leaders and stakeholders to build a management reporting framework to inform a dashboard to manage the operational risk to Disability ACT from transitioning to the National Disability Insurance Scheme system (2014)
• Dowse Projects (Tax Impact Assessment SMARTTask)—assessment of the potential taxation and general market impacts of a proposed capitalisation model for houses affected by loose-fill asbestos in the ACT across several heads of taxation (2014)
• ACT Economic Development Directorate—assessment of the City Centre Marketing and Improvement Levy (2014)
• Capital Metro Agency—assessment of value capture opportunities from a major light rail transport investment in the ACT (2013-14)
